Exova METECH to be one of Europe’s leading laboratories in torque calibration
Exova METECH's retains a constant focus on adapting its services for the energy sector – both offshore and onshore. Exova METECH is experiencing an increasing demand for total suppliers, which has led the company's torque and pressure laboratories to undergo continuous development.
An essential parameter for the wind turbine industry is fittings using torque. The demand from both wind turbine manufacturers and service companies within the industry has seen a steady rise, which has led Exova METECH to make large and very significant strides in development within this area.
To this purpose Exova METECH in Denmark has in fact built Northern Europe's presumably biggest torque tester. The tester's arm is 4 metres long and made of solid steel. The tester enables Exova METECH to calibrate torque transducers up to 25,000 Nm, which makes Exova METECH one of the leading providers of torque calibration in Europe.
The torque tester is installed and ready for use, and calibrations of up to 25,000Nm are being performed under the company's already extensive accreditation.
This expansion once again highlights Exova METECH's mission – to be a total supplier of calibration to customers all over the world.
Exova METECH grows in Germany
Exova Metech continues to expand in Europe. We have signed a long term contract for maintenance and calibration of measuring instruments with the German defense industry company Atlas Elektronik.
The agreement means a long term relationship where Exova Metech takes over Atlas Elektronik calibration laboratory in Bremen and is establishing a business there. Exova Metech also hires the employees at Atlas Elektronik affected by the takeover.
"Germany is an important market for us and Bremen is located in a strategically important region for our continued expansion. The partnership with Atlas Elektronik will be the base for our operations in Bremen as well as being a strategically important customer," says Hans Aberg, CEO of Exova Metech .
"We are proud that Atlas Elektronik has shown confidence in us," continues Hans. "Calibration and maintenance procedures of measuring instruments are subject to stringent quality requirements, and the asset management can often be more effective. In addition to freeing up resources, we can help customers reduce their total test and measurement costs, for example through increased utilization of their instruments."
We have grown substantially in recent years and have 300 employees with operations in Sweden, Denmark, Finland, Norway and Germany. The calibration laboratory in Bremen is managed by Exova Metech from November.
The laboratory is our third in Germany, after our previous establishments in Hamburg and Berlin.

New Achilles Joint Qualification System qualification
New Exova METECH qualification as a supplier to the Oil & Gas industry
Exova METECH has been qualified by Achilles JQS as supplier to the Oil Industry in Denmark and Norway. The qualification concerns Instrument Testing and Calibration Services. This qualification mean, that if you are registered user of Achilles JQS, you do not need to worry about supplier evaluation and sending out questionnaires, if you choose Exova METECH as supplier of Test and Calibration Services. That work has already been done by Achilles JQS.
