Short about our long history
It all started in the Swedish Air Force instrument workshop in 1947. Growing continuously through acquisitions and outsourcing partnerships, we are now the leading 3rd party calibration and test & measurement service provider in Europe. Today we are Exova METECH, part of Exova Group Ltd.
FFV Aerotech
Until 1994 the business was a division of FFV Aerotech. January 1, 1994 FFV Metrology was formed as a subsidiary of FFV Aerotech. This date was also the start of our Finnish company FFV Mittausteknika OY.
Celcius METECH and Saab METECH
In 1998 the Celsius group acquired FFV and was renamed Celsius METECH. 1999 we established ourselves in Denmark and in Germany. In 2000, Saab acquired the Celsius group and we became Saab METECH.
1980 we were designated as National Metrology Centre by the Swedish Government for High Frequency (HF) electrical quantities, which we held until 2000. As the National Metrology Centre moved, we earned our accreditation for HF quantities.
Bodycote METECH
2006 Saab signed an agreement with Bodycote International Plc on the transfer of shares in Saab METECH and its subsidiaries.
Exova METECH
In 2008, Bodycote Testing Group was bought by the global private equity firm Clayton, Dubilier and Rice (CD&R), and 2009 the whole Bodycote Testing Group was rebranded as Exova.
We are now Exova METECH, proud of our long and rich history.
